

Welcome to the Ashill Parish Council website. We hope you find this a useful tool for seeing what is going on in the Parish as well as a window into what your Parish Council is doing for you. There are links to useful sites, such as Somerset County Council Highways, for reporting pot-holes etc, and National Highways, to see the latest status of the A358 dualling scheme for example, as well as contact information for your council, financial reports and meeting minutes. The Parish of Ashill is pleased to announce the installation of four new “village gateways.”
Following concerns regarding speeding on Windmill Hill, the Parish Council consulted with residents and the Somerset Council Traffic Management team. While safety measures like cameras or speed bumps are restricted on National Speed Limit (NSL) roads, nationwide data shows that gateways can reduce speed-related accidents by 19%. Beyond safety, these gateways help define the identity of our various hamlets and enhance the village's aesthetic.
